“Alpha is a non-pressurised and fun course, and it shows us how Christianity can be relevant and empowering to our lives” Bear Grylls
What is Alpha? Alpha is a series of interactive sessions exploring the meaning of life and the Christian faith. Each talk looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation. It’s fun, relaxed and totally no pressure - that’s why over 27 million people worldwide have already done it.
Who is it for? Got lots of meaningful questions? Never really understood the Christian faith or been to Church? Maybe you gave up on it a long time ago. Alpha was designed for you, or anyone who doesn’t go to church much, if at all. It’s also a great ‘basics course’ for those who want to understand their faith better.
What will it be like? Each session begins with a meal – which is also a chance to get to know others and build friendships - followed by a short video talk and time to discuss in small groups what’s been said. During the discussion everyone is welcome to contribute their opinions (as much or as little as they like) and ask questions - and no question is considered hostile or too simple! Alpha doesn’t care about your background, it welcomes all those big questions and it’s completely free!
